ST2 Rapid Quantitative Test

ST2 is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor family biomarker and circulating soluble ST2 concentrations are believed to reflect cardiovascular stress and fibrosis. The studies have demonstrated soluble ST2 to be a strong predictor of cardiovascular outcomes in both chronic and acute heart failure. It is a new biomarker that meets all required criteria for a useful biomarker.

Introduction
Growth STimulation expressed gene 2 is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor family.

ST2 is listed as a class II indication for the prognosis of heart failure (HF). Soluble ST2 protein (sST2) is a biomarker of vascular health, which has diagnostic and prognostic value for various cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, atherosclerosis, giant cell arteritis, and acute aortic dissection, Ischemic stroke, obesity and diabetes. Myocardial hypertrophy, fibrosis and ventricular dysfunction are related to abnormal levels of sST2.
